I believe in the transformative power of color and nature and my photography attempts to give stage to their magnificence: My images are a collection of color pops, geometrics, and auras that include portraiture and finds from nature treks close to home and on travel to magical lands as far away as India Since our 2020 world shutdown, I have been drawn to creating abstract compositions using everyday objects.
I was born in Cali, Colombia and grew up in New York City. A year after our family’s immigration in 1967, we lost our father to a heart attack- I was six years old and the youngest of six. Photography was an integral part of my early years and my brother, sister and I would process our own black and white prints in our makeshift bedroom darkroom. As a family, we frequented Manhattan’s museums and cultural venues on weekends.
I am a lover and seeker of art, always learning and being enriched from the creativity of others. Formally, I am a graduate from the school of Arts & Sciences, Cornell University.
